Saturday’s weather forecast is calling for one of the coolest days all summer, no pun intended. The band has packed their horns & trumpets, the stage is literally being set, the caterer is prepping, beer & wine is on ice, and the illuminated cocktail tables are ready to glow….

The festival is almost upon us, rest up!

RaPpfest – Saturday, July 21st, 2012 ….. 6:00pm-11:00pm

Yes, it’s time to start thinking about summer. It’s time to kick things into gear for the greatest RaPpfest yet.

To begin, there will be some changes to the event in 2012. Most minor, one major and many that have yet to reveal themselves even to me. The major change will be the time of the event. Since 2007, the party has been an afternoon till early evening ordeal. And that was perfect when the venue was the RaPp family home in Kensington. But last year, at least in my mind, it wasn’t right. Something felt off. So, RaPpfest 2012 will be an evening affair.

The venue, is yet to be confirmed, but will likely remain at 101 Constitution for a 2nd year.

As details unfold, I’ll post them on this site. Feel free to comment or message me directly.

Thanks for checking in!

RaPpfest 2011 – Saturday, July 16th (2:00pm-8:00pm)

A view of RaPpfest 2010 from the bottom of Everett Street

Hello friends & family,

We are excited, as always, for another awesome RaPpfest.

Currently we are working on:

– confirming/finding musical talent.

– acquiring items for the silent auction gift baskets, signed memorabilia, sporting event and concert tickets, vacation packages.

– food and beverage donations – hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, wine, sodas, water.

– signage.

– t-shirt design and production.

– volunteers for face painting, donation table, silent auction, set up, break down.

RaPpfest has been traditionally free to the public, with a suggested $20.00 donation.  This may change in 2011. All proceeds benefit The Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University, in memory of my father, William Anthony Rapp III.

If you are interested in helping us with any of the above items,  have suggestions or questions, please respond to this post with contact information, or email me at  –

Thank you so much! – Kevin

Belated Thanks!

To everyone who helped w/ set up, donated or just got down; all of the RaPps extend our most sincere thanks.

What started out as a rainy, overcast day; turned into one of the most memorable fests ever. With our efforts combined we were able to donate over $13,000 to the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University in memory of my father, William Anthony Rapp III.

There will be a new RaPpfest 2011 venue next summer, as we bid farewell to our family home. that being said, I promise not much will change. Check here every now and then for updates.

Much love,

Date & Venue Change!

Last Friday mom signed the papers. The place I have called home since I was three years old will soon be home to someone else. Key word, soon! Over the years we have shared countless memories with friends & family at our old blue house in Kensington. And on Saturday, July 10th, we’re looking forward to throwing a rager one last time.

RaPpfest ’10 will be played by the same rules. Kegs, burgers, dogs, moon bounce, kids, face painting, tents, stage, bands…  If you’ve been, you know the deal. If you haven’t this is your last chance.

Last but not least, please adhere to the unspoken RaPpfest motto. Everyone is invited! Bring your friends, kids, family, neighbors, dogs… come one, come all!

Can’t wait!

– Kevin
